ANTH/FRNSC 497 - Historic Forensic Identification

 

A special topics 1 credit course that focuses on the intersection of forensic archaeology, anthropology and molecular biology as applied to historic identification cases and the analysis of ancient burial sites. 

 

Topics covered will include the identification of the last Russian Tsar, Nicholas Romanov, and the identification of individuals from mass graves. 
 

This course will include collaboration with students at the University of Split in Croatia. 
 

Prerequisites: None required, but a background in molecular biology, archaeology or anthropology is beneficial.
 

Time: Mondays-9:05am-9:55am in 103 Willard as this course will be delivered through live web-based chat sessions.
